Repairing a Felt Roof

Small bubbles, blisters and cracks are a common problems with felted flat roofs. If they are spotted early there is no reason why they need cause serious damage, and no reason for you to replace all of the felting. Check your flat roof as often as possible, particularly at the end of summer and the end of winter as both sun and rain/frost can damage roof felt.

Replacing Flashing

Flashing, the lead or metal-backed plastic strip which seals the joint between a wall and slate or tile roof, is a common point of water entry on older houses and those with flat roofs. Flashing which was fitted when the house was built is usually embedded into a row of mortar between the bricks above the joint of wall and roof.
